Team India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya ruled out of the home T20I & ODI series against Australia. The series was about to start this Sunday on 24the Feb, with 1st T20I held in Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.
Hardik Pandya ruled out due to lower back stiffness, the BCCI stated in a media release on Thursday (February 21). The 25-year-old will undergo strength and conditioning training at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru from next week.
Spinner Ravindra Jadeja will replace Hardik Pandy in the 5-match ODI series. Replacement for the T20I is not yet revealed, and we may not see any replacement in the T20Is as we already had Krunal Pandya & Vijay Shankar in the all-rounders slot of remaining 14-men squad.
Pandya was recently inserted in the team after completing the ban from BCCI for the controversial comments on women in the TV reality show “Coffee With Karan”. After more than four months of inaction, Pandya made his international comeback in the third ODI of the New Zealand series.
Pandya had earlier suffered a lower-back injury during the Asia Cup match against Pakistan and had to be stretchered off the field. He subsequently missed the home series against the Windies.
