Indian Cricket Team skipper, Virat Kohli has added one more record in his books. Kohli has now surpassed captaincy record by Viv Richards.
With Team India’s win in the first ODI against Australia, captain Kohli now holds the record for 48 wins after leading the team in 64 ODI.
Virat Kohli stands third in this record, as former greats Ricky Ponting (51 wins) and Clive Llyod (50 wins) lead the way. Viv Richards has 48 wins in over 64 games as the captain.
In the first ODI against Australia, team India chased 237. Though Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed on golden duck, Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli balance the innings. Kohli, who added 76 runs with Rohit, raced to 44 off 45 balls before being foxed by Adam Zampa.
Team India was in trouble after sudden dismissals of Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli in quick succession. MS Dhoni & Kedar Jadhav guided Team India to secure the win.
Jadhav top-scored with an unbeaten 81 as India beat Australia by six wickets in Hyderabad on Saturday. MS Dhoni did the supportive role scoring 59 runs.
India will look to capture win the second game scheduled on 5 March. It will be ghosted in Vidarbha Cricket Association in Nagpur.
